Sunday Reflections: To Be Thankful For A Prophet

Sunday Reflections: To Be Thankful For A Prophet

FROM THE PEN OF ELISA

I love listening to General Conference! I love living in a day when prophets and apostles are on the earth! “We thank thee, O God, for a prophet to guide us in these latter days.”

As I listen to Conference, I feel immersed in a beautiful spirit of revelation that encourages me to receive my own personal revelation. I feel comfort in the areas of life where I have been wounded or hurt, I feel assurance that I am enough and am greatly loved by the Lord, I feel inspired in the areas that I need to grow, I feel promptings filled with guidance on specific things that I need to do, and I feel grateful to live in the day when the gospel has been restored to the earth and when so many beautiful blessings are available.

Today we share with you a beautiful arrangement of the song, “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet”. The arrangement is by one of our favorite composers, Jason Tonioli. If you listen carefully, you will hear a few measures from the song, “O Danny Boy”, as a tribute to President Gordon B Hinckley. This was one of President Hinckley’s favorite songs.

Les & I truly thank our Heavenly Father for the blessing of having a living prophet, President Russell M Nelson, on the earth today.

FROM THE PEN OF LES

Yesterday, October 1st, marked one year since my heart first tried to stop and our excruciating journey of healing began. A significant part of the healing journey was open heart surgery for a triple bypass procedure.

During this miraculous medical procedure, my heart and lungs were actually stopped so repairs could be made and my body was kept alive by what is known as the “heart-lung bypass machine”.

The pioneering developer of the first heart-lung bypass machine was Dr. Russell M. Nelson who is known today worldwide as the current Prophet of God and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Our hearts are filled with deep gratitude for both parts of the miraculous life of President Russell M. Nelson.

Have a beautiful Sunday!

We love you!

Les & Elisa
