Sunday Reflections – “Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer”
How do you see Jesus Christ? What do you feel when you think of Him?
While Jesus has many titles and roles, we invite you today to consider His role as the Savior.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
Thy sweet message now impart.
May thy Spirit, pure and fervid,
Enter ev’ry timid heart;
Carry there the swift conviction,
Turning back the sinful tide.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
May each soul in thee abide.
For many years I saw Jesus as the Savior of the World, the Savior of all people, but I struggled to see Him as my Savior. It wasn’t that I doubted He could save me, but I doubted I could be saved at all.
I have always had the gift of believing in Jesus, the reality of God who I see as my Heavenly Father, and the truth of a restored gospel. I have faith and hope in the doctrine. Yet, I still struggled to feel I could be saved.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
We are weak but thou art strong;
In thy infinite compassion,
Stay the tide of sin and wrong.
Keep thy loving arms around us;
Keep us in the narrow way.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
Let us never from thee stray.
I have always loved Jesus and I’m grateful over the years I have felt and discovered just how much He also loves me. A big factor in discovering the Savior’s love was seeing how Elisa loved me and our children.
Her love is complete. She loves the whole of me even though she knows the whole of me. And that is how the Savior loves me.
And how He loves you.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
Thou wilt bind the broken heart.
Let not sorrow overwhelm us;
Dry the bitter tears that start.
Curb the winds and calm the billows;
Bid the angry tempest cease.
Precious Savior, dear Redeemer,
Grant us everlasting peace.
As Elisa plays this beautiful arrangement of “Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer” by Jason Tonioli, we hope you enjoy time to ponder about who Jesus is to you and how you feel about Him.
Perhaps the scripture in John chapter 3 verse 16 actually means something. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.”
Have a beautiful Sunday!
We love you.
