Get To Know Les Time!
HI, I’M LES PATTERSON.
I’m a storyteller and a poet, a leader, a connector, and a business owner. I’m a veteran. I’m a husband, father, and grandfather.
Those are some of the important roles in my life.
Well,
I’m a person of greatness who strives to make a difference in life.
I strive to live my Power of Three personal promises to 1) create a new story, 2) to get back up every time, no matter what, and 3) stay present and engaged in life.
And that’s a good thing for each of us to know.
Now, if you would like to keep reading and find out a bit more about me, I’ll answer three questions recently asked of me by my friend Kristi Larsen Corless in preparation for a writing retreat I was speaking at.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I live in Hyde Park in beautiful Cache Valley in northern Utah, so named for the Mountain Men who once ‘cached’ or stored their furs here. My angel Elisa and I raised our children here, 3 handsome sons (who are also veterans) and two lovely daughters, and we have been blessed with two beautiful grand kiddos.
ARE YOU A BRAND NEW, OR SEASONED WRITER? PUBLISHED/IN THE PROCESS?
I am a seasoned writer, starting in my early days as a stringer and journalist to 25 years as a marketing copywriter, 10 plus years as a weekly blogger, and 5 years as an active poet with 300+ poems written so far. I’ve been published as a journalist and blogger and written several workbooks. I’ve yet to publish a book, but they are in the works!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN IN ADDITION TO WRITING?!
Well, for fun, I do like to ramble with my words, creating something people will enjoy reading, words which I hope will empower them to take action. But, that’s all writing… Oh, how about this! I’m a speaker and I love to speak! Still, too closely connected? Okay, I like to camp, sit next to the water, get lost in the tranquility. And one more thing… I love getting back up. That’s good for you to know.
