Monday Morning Boost: Three Wins & An Invitation

Monday Morning Boost: Three Wins & An Invitation

WIN #1 – ELISA

Everything great about Red Edge Mentoring has Elisa’s influence all over it. She is a full partner in the business and she’s been my ultimate cheerleader, encourager, and confidant.

When we launched Red Edge Mentoring in September 2016, Elisa went to work to bolster our savings through the startup phase. Back in February of this year, we set June 25th on our vision board to be her last day working for someone else.

And we made it happen!!!

We have been incredibly blessed by the opportunity Elisa has had to work for Ilene Christensen, a great friend who owns Call Center Plus. Her love for us and her support has been instrumental. If you ever need an incredible call answering service, or a great place to work, we highly recommend a conversation with Ilene and her incredible team.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

We are excited to announce Elisa will be joining Red Edge Mentoring on a full-time basis. Her passion and skills will greatly benefit our core mission of “Empowering Leaders to Create a Story of Greatness.”

Elisa’s passion and skills will greatly enhance my own and will help keep me better focused and organized. (I think we might make her the CEO!!!). She will also head up a new marriage and relationship coaching for leaders we will be adding this fall to the Red Edge repertoire.

WIN #2 – SIMONE BILES

Rejections, failures, and crashes do not stop our dreams from coming true.

Not at all.

If rejection stopped dreams from coming true then Jade Carey with the United States’ Women’s Gymnastics team would have quit after her disaster performance on the vault and never gone on to win the Gold Medal on the floor routine. Listen to her words.

“Coming back from a day like yesterday, I’m really proud of myself for being able to put that behind me and finish with probably the best floor routine I’ve ever done in my life.”

And if failure was defined by public opinion, then Simone Biles would not be able to hold her head high after making one of the most difficult decisions of her gymnastic career, In case you missed it, the world’s very best gymnast pulled out of the women’s team final and subsequent events, choosing to prioritize her mental health.

Her decision has sparked controversy around the world.

I posted the picture above along with the simple question: “Agree/Disagree/Why”.

The response I received was incredible, both in the sheer number of comments (70 so far in two different posts) and in the quality of the discussion with passionate feelings being shared with respect.

The insights shared brought forth great insights into an important conversation. It’s crucial we continue to have healthy conversations concerning our collective journey with mental health. The more important conversations will be those we have with the ones we love most.

Rejection, fear of failure, and crashes do hurt. They kick our butt. They might at times even make us feel worthless, weak, and defeated.

But they also can change the direction of our life.

We each our an Olympian in our own right. Our journey to the gold medal of life is full of rejection, failure, and crashes.

We can be inspired by the examples of the great athletes

But if we really want to change, we must do.

WIN #3 – SPEAKING IN PERSON

Few opportunities as a professional speaker are as rewarding as honoring our veterans. Today was such an occasion by being asked to be the featured presenter at the grand opening of the Dan Gyllenskog Veterans Resource Center in Cache Valley.

Spearhead by Phillip Redlinger and the Cache Valley Veterans Association, this multi-year project is the result of many people coming together in a spirit of love and service, committed that no veteran shall be left behind.

I love how I’m surrounded in this photo by the beautiful Flags of our military branches. Thanks to a great friend and client Jimmy Birman for capturing this moment.

AN INVITATION

If you are a business leader looking to strengthen the STORY you are creating for yourself, the STRATEGY you are leading your company with, and how you SERVE your family, team, and customers with love and greatness…

Then I have an invitation for you!

Come and discover what will happen when you intentionally surround yourself with other incredible leaders who are creating their stories of GREATNESS!

That’s what we do inside the Red Edge Mastermind groups. We meet twice a month for two hours for a guided and facilitated discussion intentionally designed to empower you as a leader.

A couple of times a year we open our Mastermind discussion and invite other leaders to be part of the conversation. That time will be this coming Monday, August 9 from 8-10am.

Imagine what could happen when you surround yourself with GREATNESS!

If you would like to be part of this conversation and discover this greatness yourself, drop me a note or give me a call and we will make it happen.
