Monday Morning Boost: 35 Years Creating A Love That Is Forever & Always

Elisa and I find little ways to celebrate our anniversary during the entire month of February. One of those ways, at least for 5 years now, is a daily note I write, sharing a little bit of what makes our love the kind of love that is “Forever & Always.”

While the majority of these little notes are just for Elisa, I share today (with her permission) the one I wrote for her on Saturday, February 17th, the actual day of our 35th anniversary.

35 REASON OUR LOVE IS FOREVER & ALWAYS

I have been immersed in reflection on the incredible journey we have shared together. While elements of life have made our journey extremely challenging, we have been blessed to have many more beautiful and spectacular moments that have immersed our love in joy, shaping our love and deepening our bond. As we celebrate the milestone of 35 years, I share 35 reasons why our love is Forever & Always.

Years of Love – Through 35 years of good, hard, beautiful, and not-so-beautiful times, our love has remained steadfast, making every year a good year.
Journey Together – Walking the journey of love with you makes the challenges easier to bear and the triumphs sweeter to celebrate.
Light in Darkness – Your love and hope shine brightly, illuminating even the darkest corners of my mind and heart.
Focused Together – On Sundays, and every day between, your patient love helps me stay focused on what truly matters, especially our spiritual journey together.
The Dash of Life – In the moments between moments, where life truly exists, our love thrives and creates the fabric of our shared existence.
I never saw Elisa in high school because I graduated the year before she started. But there’s no question she was also a cutie then! A big part of high school for her was being the yearbook editor. It was fun to see her sporting her Letterman Sweater!
Temple Covenants – The sacred covenants we’ve made together in the temple bind our hearts forever, bringing healing and eternal unity.
Absence & Fondness – Distance may separate us at times, but it only serves to deepen my appreciation and fondness for you.
Nights Alone – Even in the loneliest nights, your love surrounds me, reminding me that we are always together in heart and spirit.
Expressing Love Daily – Every day, in every way, we express our love for each other, whether through physical intimacy or heartfelt gestures.
Hope & Healing – Even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, our love remains a beacon of hope, healing our hearts and uniting us ever more deeply.

February 17, 1989, was a beautiful winter day for our wedding in the Manti Utah Temple! Our wedding was the only time I wore a white tuxedo… Maybe it’s time to bring it back!
Adventures Together – From impromptu road trips to quiet nights at home, every moment spent with you is an adventure filled with love and joy.
First Night Memories – Even on the coldest, stormiest nights, your love has always been my shelter, keeping me warm and safe.
Shared Dreams – Dreaming together, we’ve built a future filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
Laughter & Joy – Your laughter is music to my ears, bringing joy and lightness to even the darkest of days.

The glow of love that was beautifully there on our wedding day at the Manti Temple was captured again the day our daughter Rebecca married her incredible hubby Taylor Call in the Manti Temple.
