Monday Morning Boost: Creating Harmony During the Holidays
The holidays are a season of joy, gratitude, and togetherness–but they can also bring stress, busyness, and a sense of imbalance.
Thanksgiving rolls into Christmas with a flurry of family gatherings, endless to-do lists, and the pressure to make everything perfect. This time of year challenges even the most Intentional Leaders to focus on what truly matters.
I’ve often wrestled with the myth of balancing it all.
Using the core Power of Three can be a simple way to create harmony during the holidays: clarify What Matters Most, focus on what is in your Control and Influence, and enjoy doing what you most Love and Enjoy.
CLARIFY WHAT MATTERS MOST
The holiday season is full of demands, but not everything deserves your energy. Begin by asking yourself:
- What memories do you want to create this year?
- How can you focus on gratitude and love in your family traditions?
- Who needs your presence, your time, and your most care?
This is where harmony begins. Identify three priorities that matter most–whether it’s meaningful family time, serving others, or taking care of your health. By naming these priorities, you can lead with intention rather than letting the chaos lead you.
FOCUS ON WHAT’S IN YOUR CONTROL & INFLUENCE
The holidays often pull us into situations we can’t control–family drama, unexpected changes, or unrealistic expectations. What you can control, however, is your response. Focus on these three areas:
- Your mindset: Approach each day with gratitude and flexibility.
- Your schedule: Plan ahead for what you value most, and say “no” to what doesn’t align.
- Your actions: Be the leader who brings peace to your gatherings, even in challenging moments.
Influence comes through consistency. By modeling calm, gratitude, and joy, you’ll naturally help guide others toward harmony.
CELEBRATE WHAT YOU MOST LOVE & ENJOY
Amidst the busyness, don’t forget to savor the season. What do you love about Thanksgiving? What fills your heart with joy at Christmas? Whether it’s baking cookies, reading scriptures about Christ, or watching your favorite holiday movies, prioritize these moments.
Here’s the key:
Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Joy isn’t found in perfection–it’s found in the intentional moments you create.
A SEASON OF HARMONY
As Intentional Leaders, we can approach the holidays with clarity, focus, and joy by embracing the Power of Three. Let go of the myth of balance and instead find harmony by:
- Clarifying What Matters Most
- Focusing on what’s in your Control & Influence
- Enjoying doing what you Most Love & Enjoy
This holiday season, lead with intention and empower those around you to do the same. When harmony becomes your focus, you’ll create not only cherished memories but also a deeper connection with what truly matters most.
Remember this…
Clarity Creates Confidence–and harmony creates joy.
