Monday Morning Boost: Creating Energy in the Darkness
Why is it darkest just before the dawn? Why do we struggle the most just before we triumph? Why do clarity and focus sometimes rise from the billowing dust of confusion?
Perhaps, the struggle of darkness is when the greatest energy is being created.
English cleric and writer Charles Caleb Colton put it this way…
“Times of great calamity and confusion have been productive for the greatest minds. The purest ore is produced from the hottest furnace. The brightest thunder-bolt is elicited from the darkest storm.”
We can rise and create. We can find the brightness in the midst of the surrounding darkness. We can create hope when none seems to exist.
In essence, we can change our story.
We can tell it better.
We can give it new life.
We can create a better character.
We can even give our story a new ending… Which is really a new beginning.
And that’s where the story gets exciting!
You have chosen to change your story by doing something hard.
But you started changing your story a long time before.
Every time you got knocked down, kicked down, beat down, or just tripped and fell on your own, you started changing your story.
Every time you got back up, on your own or with help, you started changing your story.
Every time you quit and gave up but then changed course and got going again, you started changing your story.
And you can do it again.
If your spirits are broken and your heart is heavy, if you’re feeling defeated and ready to quit, if you doubt you have what it takes, this is your moment to create new energy and create a new story.
“Recovery begins from the darkest moment,” says former UK prime minister John Major.
Even in the darkest hours, recovery starts and you can change your story.
It truly is darkest just before dawn.
You are creating a better story!
Now, what will you do with it???
Have a great Monday! Thanks for letting me share.
