Monday Morning Boost: Out With The Old Story…
As the old adage goes…
“Out with the old, in with the new!”
But what is “the old”?
Old is anything that clutters up life or confuses our direction in life. This could literally be the old stuff you no longer use, that pile in the closet you dread going through, that stack of papers on the desk you need to file, or the gazillion of boxes of junk filling up the garage.
Or it could be old thinking, old ideas, and old limitations that may be holding you back. It could be past mistakes, grudges, or old memories that are no longer healthy to hold on to.
If we want to change the physical, mental, or emotional clutter in our lives, my good friend Ashley Stuart of Rethink Clutter says we must find something better, new, or simply even different to replace it with.
When we get rid of clutter, physical or mental, it’s amazing what can happen with our relationships. Listen to this sound “Rethink Clutter” advice Ashley shares.

OUT WITH YOUR OLD STORY OF DOUBT
We all have that old story, our ugly truth, we hang on to.
Broken.
Lonely.
Alone.
Dumb.
Ugly.
Fat.
Broke.
Poor.
Bad.
The ugly truth of our old story exists because we choose (or perhaps are impacted by circumstances outside of our control) a continuous cycle where the old story played out in full-spectrum color inside our brain, and maybe even part of our physical life.
Played without pausing. Uninterrupted reinforcement of all that was wrong with us. Played for years in my life, screaming with ear-shattering clarity.
It was hard to ignore such a blatant attack. When we hear/think/speak something over and over, we finally accept it as true.
An ugly truth.
CREATING YOUR NEW STORY OF GREATNESS
My journey with my heart over the last few weeks has compelled my own story to speak in a much softer tone with a much more gentle voice. Almost a whisper at times.
In this new story, I hear much less of the “ugly truth” and much more of the real truth. My new story focus on speaking only the real truth.
To hear the real truth, I am learning (once again) I must listen with real intention. I must also speak with real intention.
Listening and speaking with real intention better empowers me… and thus will better empower you… to think better thoughts, speak better words, and create a better language.
That’s when the magic happens.
When you think better thoughts, speak better words, and create a better language, you start creating a repeatable pattern of better thoughts, words, and language that WILL LEAD to better actions, better habits, and better characteristics that will change your life.
That’s when the miracles will start to show up.
You will find it easier to hear the better story, speak a better story, and live a better story.
Time for the old clutter to be gone!
