Shine Bight And Light The World
There are many ways to let our light shine brightly. Sharing the gift of time with others is one of those ways.
Jared and Lindsey Preece, friends and neighbors in Hyde Park, have inspired me to find more ways to let my light shine brightly by being better aware of those who don’t have family around.
Jared spoke in our Sunday church services on Christmas Eve. He shared a story of how he and his family enjoyed visiting an assisted living facility and singing carols. My heart was touched and I felt as if I was there with them.
On Christmas Day I saw the greeting card they shared this year. Right in the middle of a handful of family pictures, were the words “Shine Bright.”
Shine Bright.
Those two simple words opened my heart.
Jared’s beautiful story of the day before flooded my memory.
I felt that light that is the true Gift of Christmas.
Love.
Then into my mind and heart came the inspiration and words to write this poem.
SHINE BRIGHT THAT ALL MAY HEAR
The greatest gift you give
Is one that shines all year
Radiating His word
In a voice all can hear.
Sharing His loving grace
He who hung on the tree
Exemplifying love
In vision all can see.
Testimony of love
A witness that will seal
Bosom burning inside
In a way all can feel.
May we each shine a little brighter and #LightTheWorld that all may hear His loving voice.
Thanks for letting me share.

Thoughts of inspiration come in many forms, and may be expressed in many ways. The collection of stories, essays, and poetry shared under Red Edge Perspective represents some of my personal efforts to Gain The Red Edge through creative expression. Thanks for letting me share.
