Monday Morning Boost: Creating The Perfect S’More!
That’s exactly what we are doing this Labor Day weekend, camping at Paris Spring on the Idaho side of Bear Lake, exploring the Ice Caves, and sitting around the campfire.
We’ll hike a little, read a book or two, and sleep. We’ll listen to the creek gurgle and the birds call out to each other. Maybe we’ll even see some wildlife.
Mostly, we’ll relax, hang out, talk and laugh.
As for creating the perfect S’More! It’s a core campfire tradition. I’ve discovered few people over the years who actually know how to create a perfect version of it. Most resort to the gooey mess you’re familiar with.
That my friends is not a perfect s’more!
Unfortunately, most people don’t agree with me. And you may not either.
The perfect s’more is not quite an ancient secret, but it’s pretty darn close. If you want to discover it yourself, let me know and I’ll give serious consideration to filling you in.
Here’s how to create the perfect s’more…
1) Prepare a campfire. The ideal size is open flames you can comfortably stand close enough to.
2) Set at all your ingredients, roasting sticks, graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate, be it Hershey’s or truffles.
3) Break the graham crackers in half and place chocolate on one half.
4) Select your marshallow.
5) Pick up your roasting stick and set it to the side. You will not need it.
6) Take your marshallow and throw it into the woods.
7) Take the other half of your graham cracker and place it on top of the chocolate.
8) Now you can eat the combined chocolate and graham cracker without any interference from disgusting marshmallows.
Thus, the perfect s’more!
