Sunday Reflections: It Is Well With My Soul

I was captivated the first time these soulful lyrics penetrated into my soul.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,

The enriching story flowed through my veins resonating with truth

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,

The voices of America’s Choir, the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, brought the story to life. Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, the story is told of Horatio and Anna Spafford as they turn with determination to their abiding faith amid a devastating tragedy.
