Monday Morning Boost: Creating A Vision Board of Greatness!

Monday Morning Boost: Creating A Vision Board of Greatness!

Why does creating a story of greatness make a difference?

Because the story we most consistently create for ourselves will be the story to most consistently comes true in our lives.

Jack Canfield supports this assumption:

“Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmations and images of your goals, you are destined to achieve them!”

Creating a better story will help you:

  • discover more opportunities and fewer roadblocks
  • create a better vision and clearer focus
  • see more light and less dark

You will have energy. You will feel more enthusiastic. You’ll experience feelings of courage and strength.

VISION BOARDS

One tool you can use to help create a story of greatness is a vision board.

A vision board is a collage of pictures and words representing 1) goals and dreams you wish to achieve and 2) who you wish to become.

A pattern many people find successful is creating a vision board with 4-5 pictures and/or words representing dreams you would like to achieve. Tack your pictures to a corkboard, glue them on a poster board, or tape them to the wall. The key is putting your vision board in a place where you can look at it daily. Then spend 2-3 minutes morning and night looking at those pictures and talking out loud about the things you are doing to make those dreams come true.

This visualization concept, Jack Canfield teaches, will activate the “creative powers of your subconscious mind.”

“By putting a vision board somewhere you can see it every day, you will prompt yourself to visualize your ideal life on a regular basis. And that’s important because visualization activates the creative powers of your subconscious mind and programs your brain to notice available resources that were always there but escaped your notice. Through the Law of Attraction, visualization also magnetizes and attracts to you the people, resources, and opportunities you need to achieve your goal.”

POWER STATEMENTS

Talking out loud about the goals we want to achieve reminds our subconscious mind to stay focused on those goals.

This focus, Jack Canfield teaches, will help us “come up with solutions to challenges and obstacles that might get in the way” of achieving our goals.

Our subconscious mind is always telling us something. Flooding our minds with positive statements will help replace the “barrage of negative thoughts and beliefs” we sometimes allow our minds to wallow in.

Jack Canfield offers eight guidelines for creating effective power statements of affirmation:

  1. Start with the words “I am.” These are the two most powerful words in the English language.
  2. Use the present tense.
  3. State it in the positive. Affirm what you want, not what you don’t want.
  4. Keep it brief.
  5. Make it specific.
  6. Include an action word ending with -ing.
  7. Include at least one dynamic emotion or feeling word.
  8. Make affirmations for yourself, not others.

GO TO WORK

The concepts of vision boards and power statements are not new. You may have even thought they would help you achieve your goals.

So why haven’t you done anything yet?

I’ve asked myself that same thing for years.

Elisa and I started using a basic vision board a couple of years ago and enjoyed our experience and saw impact and results. This past month we upgraded our vision board experience to another level. That’s our vision board in the photo. What do you think???

I’ll share more about that later on. For now, what will you do???

Have a great Monday! Thanks for letting me share.
