Monday Morning Boost: Journey With My Heart, continued
The heart is very fragile.
The lungs are very fragile.
Life as a whole is very fragile.
Over the last two weeks, I’ve experienced just how very fragile… “very fragile” can be.
Here is the sixty second version…
The surgery at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray went well and I spent most of a week recovering in the hospital. I enjoyed a night and a day at home. Then I stopped breathing. Four times in a couple of hours, the last time I turned purple and blue and collapsed. Elisa had to snap me back to awareness and she and Clint took me back to the ER. A CT scan revealed blood clots in my lungs (not a good thing). Another ambulance ride from Logan back to Murray for treatment. And that’s where I am today, waiting for my blood to respond to the right level so I can safely go home.
AND… I have just learned I will be going home today. This means my heart, my lungs, and my blood are doing what they should be doing. Yay!

NOV 29 ~ BACK HOME AGAIN
John Denver sang it best…
“Hey, it’s good to be back home again… Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend… Yes, and hey, it’s good to be back home again.”
A journey home, a walk outside, and some thoughts shared in a very raspy voice about the journey of the heart. Of all my thoughts this week, this was the night I felt things the most.

IT’S SCARY WHEN YOU CAN’T BREATHE…
After a successful triple bypass heart surgery on November 23rd, I came home Monday afternoon. Tuesday was an overall good day…
Until I stopped breathing.
Immediately upon trying to go to sleep Tuesday, I experienced 4 episodes of not being able to breathe.
Panic. Fear. Scared to death… literally.
My angel Elisa, who has been carrying the extra burden these last 8 weeks, knew what to do. Though she was terrified after I started turning purple and blue and then collapsed, she was able to focus and snap me back to start breathing again.

DEC 3 ~ WHAT DO YOU SEE?
I saw a wall, then saw something more. I ask you to inspire by what you saw. Your answers intrigued me, seeing beyond my own broad vision, and humbled me by the greatness you saw in me.

DEC 5 ~ SUNDAY REFLECTIONS: THE GIFT OF SLOWING DOWN (and what’s up with that wall???)
The journey of healing our hearts is blessed greatly when we intentionally slow down. Elisa and I team up to share some thoughts on listening when our bodies, souls, and minds are telling us to slow down before we are forced to.
