Sunday Reflections: Love At Home… And In Our Country
Nothing like a good old family squabble to destroy the notion of love at home…
There is beauty all around
When there’s love at home;
There is joy in ev’ry sound
When there’s love at home.
Be it a sibling quarrel, tension between parents, or years of hurt…
Peace and plenty here abide,
Smiling sweet on ev’ry side.
Time doth softly, sweetly glide
When there’s love at home.
Even differences, misunderstandings, and expectations concerning values, beliefs, and culture…
In the cottage there is joy
When there’s love at home;
Hate and envy ne’er annoy
When there’s love at home.
What is true for our home family is also true for our country family…
Roses bloom beneath our feet;
All the earth’s a garden sweet,
Making life a bliss complete
When there’s love at home.
That which will heal our family will also heal our country…
Kindly heaven smiles above
When there’s love at home;
All the world is filled with love
When there’s love at home.
Indeed, there is One who smiles on high when there is love at home.
Sweeter sings the brooklet by;
Brighter beams the azure sky.
Oh, there’s One who smiles on high
When there’s love at home.
When there is love at home, the squabbles, quarrels, tension, and hurt will still show up, as will the differences, misunderstandings, and expectations concerning values, beliefs, and culture. And though they be there, love will, as the Psalmist writes, “healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
