Monday Morning Boost: What Will You Do With Your One Day?
Asking what we will do with our One Day is one of the most powerful questions we can ask ourselves.
Those traveling a journey of healing, especially with addiction, often focus on “One Day At Time” as their mantra for making it through each day. While extremely empowering during the struggle through the muck and mire of life, such a focus on One Day can also be beneficial for the more beautiful times of life.
Every day is a gift when we can experience the beauty of the roses intertwined amidst the thorns. Perhaps this little thought will connect.
OUR ONE DAY
by Les Patterson
Yesterday is gone
Tomorrow has yet to arrive
Today is all we have
Our One Day to be alive
Our One Day to be present
A one moment to live in
Let’s own this time we have
This gift we have been given
Sally not back and forth
On this your One Day
Put your efforts to good use
No matter what others say
This is your One Day
Keep up your chin
No matter what may come
Set your sails to the wind
I choose on my One Day to be present, to live in the moment of the gift given, to sally not back and forth between conflicting voices, to keep my chin up, to set my sails to the wind.
What will you choose on your One Day?
Ponder, share your ideas, and, if my thoughts connected, I would be grateful if you would share them with someone else.
