Monday Morning Boost: Foggy Clear
As Elisa and I went for a walk through the misty fog last Friday morning, the world seemed to be wrapped in a soft, gentle blanket of calm. While the usual landmarks were partially obscured, there was a peculiar beauty in the uncertainty.
The experience recalled a recent conversation in my Empowering Greatness Leadership Mastermind group when I shared the concept that “Clarity Creates Confidence.” During our discussion, Paul White, one of our members and owner of Cache Valley Cabinets and Tops, suggested being “Foggy Clear” may be good enough.
“Foggy Clear” encapsulates the delicate balance between uncertainty and clarity in decision-making. It’s about acknowledging that while the path ahead may not always be crystal clear, there’s wisdom in trusting our instincts and the knowledge gathered along the way.
In the midst of the Friday morning fog, I found myself inspired by the hidden beauty that surrounded me. I took several photographs that captured the essence of that moment – the blurred outlines of buildings and trees, the soft glow of the sun hiding mountain peaks, and the way the mist danced around everything it touched. These images serve as a powerful reminder that sometimes, clarity emerges from the most unexpected places.
This experience reinforced the core Power of Three principles that guide me on my own leadership journey:
- What Matters Most: In the foggy landscape of life, it’s crucial to discern what truly matters. Just as the essential elements of a scene become more pronounced in the mist, we must focus on the core values and priorities that drive us forward.
- In My Control & Influence: While we can’t control the weather, the national economy, or worldwide conflicts, nor the twists and turns that will show up in our path of life, we can control our response. We can choose to navigate with confidence, drawing on our expertise and inner strength, and be an intentional leader of ourselves and those around us.
- What I Love & Enjoy: The fog invites us to explore and discover. It’s a canvas that encourages us to seek out beauty and inspiration in unexpected places. This principle reminds us to find joy in the journey, even when the destination is unclear.
These principles remain a core component of my overall “Power of Three” pillars of Vision, Strategy, and Promise. Just as I navigated through the fog with a steady hand, small business owners can approach their ventures with a clear vision, a well-defined strategy, and a promise to stay on track toward their goals.
In a world that often demands absolute certainty, embracing the “Foggy Clear” mindset allows us to move forward with confidence, even when the path ahead is veiled in uncertainty. It’s about valuing intuition and expertise, and trusting that sometimes, the clearest insights emerge from the fog.
So, let’s venture forth with a spirit of adventure, knowing that in every misty morning, there lies a lesson in “Foggy Clear” waiting to be discovered. Embrace the fog, for it often leads to the most beautiful revelations.
Thanks for letting me share. Have a beautiful Monday.
I love you!
