You Have A Choice: Dwell In Darkness Or Create The Light

You Have A Choice: Dwell In Darkness Or Create The Light

We each have a choice today. And every other day. We can choose to see overwhelming challenges of life, which there are many, or we can choose to see the opportunities of life, which there are also many. We also have another choice. We can choose to dwell in the overwhelming darkness of challenges, which takes no effort, or we can choose to create the light of opportunity, which takes significant effort. Either way, whichever choice we make, others will…

Monday Morning Boost: To Be An American Citizen

Monday Morning Boost: To Be An American Citizen

The Fourth of July, Independence Day, offers us the chance to reflect on what it means to be an American. There are lots of easy answers, such as, “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as boldly declared in our Declaration of Independence. It’s popular to attempt to sum up what it means to be American in meme-worthy words and phrases: Freedom. Patriotism. Red, White, and Blue. The Flag. Monday Morning Boost: Perfectly Imperfect Miraculous Mothers

Monday Morning Boost: Perfectly Imperfect Miraculous Mothers

Monday Morning Boost: The Borgstrom Brothers

Monday Morning Boost: The Borgstrom Brothers

I was introduced to their story Sunday while listening to Music and the Spoken Word. Ironically, I was writing…

That’s a great way to Gain the Red Edge. Today’s inspiration was none of that. Today’s inspiration came very quickly and not during the midnight hours. It was inspired by the lyrical words of singer, songwriter and author Casey Stark. I don’t fancy myself a…

Siren’s Fatal Song

Siren’s Fatal Song

SIREN’S FATAL SONG Societal walls Like prison feel Shackled tight Against my will. Mountain tops Prairies wild Explore I must My inner child. Bolting forth Wings now free Nothing bars What I can be. Rivers carry I need not oars My soul is light Freedom soars. Faster, stronger To the ledge My body flies Past the edge. I leap to escape My freedom to find Universal laws Will not bind. Soaring high Flying free Nothing stopping What I shall be….
